Motion unveils new peripherals
Posted on Wed, Jan 27, 2010 - 06:47 amIt's hard to say how many healthcare users will respond to Motion Computing's roll-out of two new peripherals for the C5 mobile clinical assistant and the rugged F5 Tablet PC, but the new EasyConnect magnetic stripe reader (MSR) offers a highly mobile point-of-sale (POS) solution, while a new case promises more options for using the Motion tablets on-the-go.
The EasyConnect MSR snaps into the docking connector, offering the mobility and productivity of a hand-held POS device with the flexibility of a PC. Although primarily geared towards retail settings, with the mobile broadband and wireless capabilities of the C5 and F5, the peripheral could extend secure transactions into physicians offices, as well as home care settings.
Motion also has rolled out a new accessory that makes carrying the C5 and F5 Tablet PCs a little more convenient. The ClipCarry clasps onto the back of the tablet, allowing more options for holding, carrying and using the devices while mobile. To provide support for uninterrupted workflows, it fits into the devices’ standard docking stations.
